How did you feel when you qualified? What was that experience like? With 400m left of the race, I saw my husband and 4 kids cheering. I looked at my watch and realized I was so close to being under the qualifying standard. Seeing my family gave me the strength I needed to finish strong and reach my goal. I crossed the finish line 24 seconds under the qualifying standard and I was beaming and grinning I couldn't believe it, all the hard work, early mornings, strength sessions, failed attempts, and prayers, finally paid off! It's absolutely a dream come true.
What dream are you chasing at the Trials? I'm excited to be among the fastest women marathoners in the country, this is a very unique experience, one that I am so grateful to be a part of. At the Trials I would love to lower my time again but mostly to enjoy the experience and run a solid race.
